Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Senior Guidance Navigation & Control Engineer for a large highly-complex group of programs. Be a part of our talented and highly-motivated team who are excited to be on the forefront of modern spaceflight.  This position will sit in Tukwila WA.Selected candidates will work on a range of spacecraft programs and will develop state of the art navigation and guidance algorithms create integrated GN&C systems perform mission planning and analysis execute system performance analyses and implement simulation solutions to support our customers.Position Responsibilities:Design analyze and guide others in the development of Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) systems simulations models tools and analysis techniquesLead and define Guidance Navigation and Control (GN&C) performance requirements ensure requirements traceability and quality from the system level to component level resolve requirements issues across program elements.Lead mission planning and analyses to define spacecraft trajectories and performance requirementsDevelop and integrate navigation & guidance algorithms to support mission and trajectory needsCreate models simulations and tools to support GN&C system development and analysisPerform a wide variety of complex trade studies to identify and recommend solutions to problems and issuesLead the definition of requirements compliance processes and certification criteria and methodsLead others in design reviews analyses simulations and component / system testing to ensure delivery of products that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectationsAssure timely cost effective solutions for program and engineering issues present recommendations and implementation status to leadership and customersLead organize and resolve cross-divisional problemsLead new business development efforts and the definition of technology roadmapsWork under consultative supervision coach other engineers and leadersThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.Work Authorization:This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelors Masters or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry10 years or more experience with spacecraft system design development test and evaluationPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience developing Kalman filters for navigation or attitude determination applicationsApplied experience in one or more of the following areas: Orbital Dynamics Inertial Navigation Relative Navigation Rendezvous Guidance or Navigation Hardware ModelingExperience in computer programming using C C++ C# Ada or other engineering programming languagesExperience developing simulations and executable code with Simulink and/or MATLABExperience with implementing algorithms in real time systemsExperience in working agile model-based system engineering environmentExperience leading the development of Guidance Navigation and Control SystemsStrong communication skills (both written and verbal)Typical Education & Experience: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelors with 14 or more years experience Masters with 12 or more years experience or PhD with 9 or more years experience. Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry.
