Job Description

Description The Payroll Specialist is responsible for all payroll related responsibilities including compiling payroll data entering timesheets performing quality control procedures reconciling errors processing payroll printing checks and direct deposit notifications and transmitting direct deposit file to financial institution. The position is also responsible for entering local and federal Prevailing Wage rates into payroll system and the generation of Certified Payroll reports. Work is performed independently with direction from the Accounting Manager and Controller.Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:Adhere to and promote all Company Safety Policies and the Company Code of Conduct.Maintain the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality.Process and reconcile timesheets for a multi-location high volume weekly payroll within established deadlines.Check timesheets for accuracy and verify against work order cost codes Prevailing Wage or other criteria.Perform quality control procedures through use of audit reports to ensure all timesheets are accounted for and data entry errors are corrected.Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.Process and calculate checks/adjustments to include any miscellaneous deductions and taxable adjustments as required. Prepare required withholding reports tax status etc.Enter prevailing wage rates into payroll system.Timely resolution of payroll issues and inquiries with supervisors employees and administrators.Print prepare distribute weekly payroll checks and upload direct deposit notices.Contribute towards special projects as needed.Perform miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as required.For immediate consideration please call me directly and connect on LI! (construction and Certified r a HUGE plus) CPP preferred but not required.Experience with Microsoft Office software applications and automated Payroll systems required.Knowledge of general payroll/ tax practices required.Possess problem resolution skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding pay rates wages deductions and any other sensitive matters.Ability to follow procedures and identify process improvements.High degree of professionalism.
