Find your future with us.Boeing Research and Technology is looking for a Experienced End-to-end Electrical System Engineer in El Segundo CA or Huntington Beach CA.In pursuit of Boeings research and business interests the successful candidate will:This position will lead the Systems Engineering efforts in defining and maintaining a wide variety of component subsystem and system level budgets and analyses that are tied to advanced research and development activities. This position also includes the validation of individual models integration into system models to provide end-to-end solutions for complex electrical systems and derive updated component level requirements for ongoing technology demonstrations. Due to the technologies involved many of the models are challenging first of a kind with no industry equivalents and will need to address bit error rate signal timing and integrity reliability and other parameters. This position also includes the need to identify analysis gaps necessary to fully assess a future system architecture as well as assess technical threats and opportunities of current analysis approaches.Work on world class next generation disruptive technologies across the enterprise and at business partners and teammate facilities to develop document analyze and test operational functional and environmental requirements of developed research systemsLeverage advanced Model Based Systems Engineering methods and tools to perform complex analysis and trade studies to evaluate Key Performance Parameters from technology requirements definition design and manufacturing process definition to product development phase supporting the technology all the way from concept definition to technology demonstrationProvide high impact creative solutions to complex technical problemsWork both independently and as part of a team environmentProvide critical support and independent review of the work of teammatesPosition Responsibilities:Develop and maintain complex system level technical performance budgets that include ongoing advancements in electronic devices materials technologies and software developments.Perform iterative performance requirements balancing across multiple teams and technical product concepts.Support modeling and simulation efforts for technologies under research & developmentCoordinate with other requirements focused engineers modeling and simulation team members and subject matter experts across Boeing and its teammate/partnersPerform requirements functional and physical decomposition and iterate as necessary to perform functional and physical requirements allocation(s).Support and perform system level performance trade studies as part of requirements definition and refinementPerform requirements management and baseline controlSupport complex architecture trade studies & system/subsystem level integration & validationThis position requires a current Tier 5 (T5) formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelors Masters or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistryExperience in new technology or product/capability development3+ years of experience in system design functional decomposition requirements development analysis verification and validationVerbal and written communication skills with ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience in defining system functional and logical architectures that included hardware and software elements.Experience in working in an agile model based system engineering environmentExperience with Model Based Engineering tools and languages such as Enterprise Architecture Cameo MagicDraw and UML/SysMLEducation/experience in 1 or more of the following: Cameo DOORS SysML Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)Adjudicated Counter Intelligence scope polygraph completed within the last 5 yearsTypical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience Master+7 years related work experience).
