This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business organization.Our team is currently hiring for a range of experience levels including: Experienced and Lead Level Software Engineers.The program is seeking a Software Developer to develop a new Global Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Ground System that will manage transmission of protected tactical waveform - a type of secure anti-jam communication - over Boeing-built Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites and terminals.The successful candidate will drive the daily execution of product development in a fast-paced agile environment. We seek candidates who have skills in agile methodologies software development test automation and system automation.As a member of the PTES team you will be involved in the entire software development life cycle from idea creation and development all the way through to maintenance and support of the customer’s delivered system. These positions will place you in roles where you have the opportunity to make an impact on the results of our project. The PTES team offers a collaborative mentoring environment where you have the opportunity to learn from or lead others. The program is seeking a Software Developer to develop a new Global Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Ground System that will manage transmission of protected tactical waveform - a type of secure anti-jam communication - over Boeing-built Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites and terminals. Position Responsibilities:Utilize Java JavaScript and Python software languages to develop satellite ground control systemsAgile Development within a cross-discipline teamContinuous integration testing and delivery within a CI/CD pipelineUtilize microservice containerized software architectureUtilize Kubernetes Docker and Rancher RKEDecompose complex requirements and capabilities into executable discrete user storiesThis position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.Security Clearance and Investigation​:This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor Master or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study in Computer Engineering Software Engineering Computer Science Mathematics Physics or other technical degree5 or more years of experience utilizing Java for software development2 or more years of experience utilizing Agile development processes1 or more years of experience in developing software unit tests and automated functional testingPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Active U.S. Secret Security ClearanceExperience working in an Agile software development environment utilizing Atlassian Suite (Jira Confluence Bitbucket etc.) or similar toolsExperience utilizing microservices in Java Spring FrameworkExperience utilizing Python for software developmentExperience utilizing Kafka or similar distributed event streaming technologyExperience utilizing jBPM Kogito or similar business process frameworkExperience utilizing OptaPlanner or similar optimization enginesTypical Education/Experience:Experienced (Level 3)Bachelors degree and typically 5 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with typically 3 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.Lead (Level 4)Bachelors degree and typically 9 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with typically 7 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry.
