Our customers run their businesses on our cloud and our mission is to provide them with best in class compute storage networking database security and an ever expanding set of foundational cloud-based services.https://cloud.oracle.com/cloud-infrastructurehttp://cloud.oracle.com/computeJob Responsibilities:As a Senior Member of Technical Staff you will own the software development for major components of Oracles Cloud Infrastructure. You should be both a rock solid coder and a distributed systems generalist able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low level systems as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale work comfortably in a collaborative agile environment and be excited to learn.Candidate Profile: 5 - 12+ years experience designing developing and operating large scale highly available distributed systems. Strong knowledge of C C++ or Java and experience with scripting languages such as Python Perl etc. Demonstrable knowledge of data structures algorithms operating systems and distributedsystems fundamentals and cloud-native development. Working familiarity with operating systems internals embedded systems and firmware development is preferred. Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Experience building multi-tenant cloud services.Top 3 skill sets / technologies in the ideal candidate:Software Engineering experience with distributed systems within large scale environments5-12+ years experience working on challenging issues with a self-starter / self-motivated attitude (Will vary based on level)Embedded systems and firmware experience would be a huge plusAbility to work in a fast-paced and agile development environmentThe secret of Cloud is that the Cloud itself still has to run on actual computers. In Substrate Compute we are the silent heroes who build and operate the systems that interface with the machines so that the rest of OCI can build the Cloud. We handle new hardware ingestion automated fault detection and repair and internal compute provisioning. Our problem space spans flashing firmware on devices and base operating systems to provisioning workflows.
