Find your future with us.Boeing Global Services is currently seeking a Mid-level Structural Design Engineer to become part of the BGS Team in (Long Beach CA).The selected candidate will develop integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. Candidate will develop maintain and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods to provide product definition to other engineering groups production operations suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. This position will also perform and integrate analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. The team member will manage supplier development test and production activities and coordinate with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.  Employee will develop new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness quality and efficiency of the development effort and will investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. This position works under general direction.Position Responsibilities:Design solutions for modification of C-17 aircraft utilizing NX/Teamcenter tools to develop drawing sheets 3D models and PDM data such as parts lists notes lists and application lists.Coordinate with other teams including Stress Durability and Damage Tolerance Maintenance and Modifications Materials and Processes to develop the solutions and ensure output meets specifications.Create the engineering order documentation and supervise the release process.Documentation for the aforementioned modifications for review by customer representatives.Support all C-17 Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) reporting and documentation requirements.Working towards DAE but not required to start.This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements therefore a “US Person†as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person†includes US Citizen lawful permanent resident refugee or asylee.  This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite at one of the listed location options (Long Beach CA).Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):  Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering Computer Science Mathematics Physics or other technical degree. 3+ years experience using engineering design tools such as NX Teamcenter CATIA ENOVIA. 3+ years’ experience with structural design or analysis engineering.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 3+ years design experience in metallic aircraft structure.3+ years design experience in composite aircraft structure.Highly skilled in Siemens NX CAD Including Drafting and Sheet Metal.Highly skilled in PDM data use/maintenance in Siemens Teamcenter.Typical Education & Experience: Bachelors degree and typically 5 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with typically 3 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.Relocation Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
