Find your future with us.Boeing Defense/Space/Security (BDS) located in Seattle WA is looking for an Operations Analyst who is interested in working difficult problems at the front end of the business. The analyst will deliver customer focused analysis using modeling simulation and research to address a variety of capability gaps. The team is responsible for researching analyzing and compiling technical data for system-level concepts in the operational environments to optimize effectiveness over the life of the program. Observations derived from the analysis will be used to develop BDS offerings and drive Phantom Works capture strategy. External interface with government customers as well as internal interface with Mission Systems Configuration Design and other disciplines will be required to gather inputs and share analysis results.  Individual tasks vary with the needs of the program and require the ability to problem solve with a flexible self-directed approach.  Position Responsibilities:Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical functional and program interfaces.Works in conjunction with the customers to identify appropriate customer needs and operational requirements.Derives requirements from operational needs and customer inputs.Applies an interdisciplinary collaborative approach to plan design develop analyze and verify complex system of systems and system solutions.Applies systems engineering processes methodologies and tools to the design of basic system of systems systems and new product development.Performs analyses for affordability safety reliability maintainability testability human systems integration survivability vulnerability susceptibility system security regulatory certification product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.Develops operational problems to be solved and candidate solutions.Plans and oversees the compilation of user needs through direct and indirect means (e.g. interviews documents research and field observations) to determine the current state of operations and potential solutions for desired capabilities.Interfaces with other members of the project or program teams management sales and marketing staff customers and suppliers to meet group organization and company objectives.Develops trade study packages and frameworkDevelops or modifies simulation models to answer specific study problemsDevelops and presents threat briefings.This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires an active U.S. TS/SCI Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Technical Bachelors Masters or a PhD degree (A technical degree is defined as any four year degree or greater in a mathematics scientific or information technology field of study)Experience with large-scale military systems and/or advanced technologies such as NC3 Tanker Programs AEW&C JSTARS P-3 Army ISR laser and electro-optic systems and missile defense systemsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience in operations or systems analysis modeling and simulation of large-scale systems including use of tools like AFSIM ESAMS BRAWLER and life cycle cost modeling suites is highly desiredOperational military background is highly desired (preferably in aviation or BMC2 / ISR domains)Typical Education & Experience:Bachelors degree and typically 9 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with typically 7 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry.
