Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) division is seeking DevSecOps / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Mission Systems Software Engineering team located in Tukwila WA. This team which is part of the Mobility and Surveillance organization within BDS is a development and sustainment organization for Commercial Derivative Aircraft (CDA) such as E-3 AWACS 767 AWACS and 737 Airborne Early Warning & Control Aircraft and is hiring for the next generation product-line. These aircraft represent the world’s standard for airborne early warning and control systems filling the need for both command and control functions for tactical and air defense forces.In this role you will help guide the Boeing Enterprise implementation of DevSecOps for the US-E7 program.  The successful candidate will design implement and maintain a modern system deployment to the cloud environment with a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) workflows for system build test and deploy in containerized microservices.  We operate as a fast paced agile team. We seek candidates who have proven skills in DevOps Cloud environments software development test automation and system automation.This position will place you in roles where you have the opportunity to make an impact on the results of our project. The DevOps team offers a collaborative mentoring environment where you have the opportunity to learn from or lead others.Position responsibilities:Develop and Enhance our DevOps operations in multiple Cloud Service environmentsPerform in the entire software development life cycle of the DevOps tool chainCollaborate on idea creation and development of the DevOps tool chainSupport the ongoing lifecycle maintenance of the DevOps tool chainSupport the software quality efforts of our Boeing product deliveries to our customersTechnology areas of this position are:Agile product developmentContinuous integration testing and deliveryAutomated system testing integration and deploymentRolling out upgrades to our software factories as neededWork closely with developers testers and system engineers from multiple product teamsSuggest modifications to the DevSecOps workflow to improve efficiencyResearch and pitch new tools/products to the teamThis position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location Tukwila WA.Travel:Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10% or no travel at all.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or any technical field two (2) years of related work experienceExperience with Cloud technologiesStrong programming skills in Java Python Go or C++Experience in software development systems engineering or integration and test experience with mission systems on tactical platformsExperience working with and supporting systems with Linux Operating System (OS)Proficient in technologies such as Kubernetes Istio Rancher Openshift Git Helm Ansible Chef Docker Prometheus Grafana or AppDynamicsExperience on Automation and CI/CD techniques and design patternsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with Docker Podman and/or KubernetesStrong Working knowledge of the CI/CD process including debugging test and integration of software tools.Strong communication skills and a self-starter that can thrive in a distributed remote work environment.Understanding of secure software development methodologies and Security First mindset.Understanding of designing and implementing full stack/Microservice infrastructure.Understanding of Istio/Service MeshHave the ability to set up and manage a tool-chain using tools such as Jenkins Gradle Maven Artifactory ELK SonarQube Jira Prometheus Fluentd Helm DataGrid JBoss Cloud Suite OpenShift Docker and more.Understanding of security controls such as DoD RMF HIPAA or Security Operations Center (SOC)Typical Education/ExperienceBachelors degree and typically 2 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.Relocation This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
