Description Robert Half is working with a Westlake client looking to add a Payroll Specialist to their team. This position will be responsible for processing in-house payroll for multiple sites under multiple states. Candidates must have experience with full cycle payroll payroll taxes and union experience would be preferred.Process the timecard entry files for field payroll. Distribute the checks to each office or submit ACH file to bank for direct deposit.Set up and update all maintenance files needed to process field payroll.Maintain and reconcile all deductions such as garnishments taxes withheld union details for the payroll assigned.Reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts for the payroll assigned.Enter self-insured workers compensation claims in the program and send related information to the third party administrator as received.Answer third party requests for payroll details such as unemployment forms employment verification and union audits.Must consistently and regularly utilize discretion.Prepare and remit federal state and local tax reports in a timely fashion.Comply with policy and procedures manual.Interactive learning and development with our 7 satellite offices.Other duties as assigned.Requirements Experience/Education Requirements: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of payroll processing experience for a multi-state employer with multiple locations. MUST HAVE previous experience processing union payrolls. Knowledge of state and federal wage and tax laws and overtime requirements. Workers comp payroll reporting experience. Proven customer service skills while maintaining a confidential work environment Proficient in Excel Word and Outlook A committed team player detail oriented and an effective communicator Bachelor degree preferred Possess a sense of urgency to get things done. Flexible personal style to work with diverse personalities. Professional yet personable demeanor. Ability to effectively communicate information to employees and management.
