Financial Counseling Supervisor SUMMARY OF JOB: Responsible for the supervision of financial counseling functions in the hospital business office. Ensures the timely verification of patient insurance benefits and the collection of patient balances and payment options for hospital and HR Physician Services prior to patient’s discharge. Ensures effective communication and processes with outside vendors and clinical departments. Responsible for training/updating staff on new processes procedures and EHR systems in use at Holy Redeemer Health System. Responsible for financial reporting problem resolution and ensuring the day-to-day operation runs smoothly and consistently. Responsible to meet daily/weekly productivity and quality reasonable work expectations. Collaborates with Health System departments to achieve the HRHS CBO key performance metric targets established by Senior Leadership CONNECTING TO MISSION: The Leadership Team develops Holy Redeemer’s vision objectives strategies and tactics to achieve our mission in a way that engages both the imagination and the energies of our employees. RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree required. Combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Five (5) plus years of progressive healthcare financial counseling billing and collections experience working for a healthcare provider. HFMA AAHAM Professional Certification preferred. Knowledge of third-party insurance benefit polices and requirements insurance eligibility tools and resources payer payment and remittance procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology ICD10 CPT and HCPC coding Familiar with multiple (widely used) healthcare patient accounting/billing systems. Proficiency with Excel MS Office Internet Explorer and Database Management application software. Ability to communicate in English both written and verbal. Additional Languages are preferred. Ability to multi-task and accurately process high volumes of work. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients employees and the public. Strong organizational and time management skills. Assertive in resolving unpaid claims. Good analytical skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Willingness to become a Notary Public and render these services for patients families and employees. EOE
