Job Description

The Executive Staff team member will provide critical high-level project support for initiativesidentified by the CEO of Self-Help as well as other organizational leaders. The Executive Staffmember will work in a social justice activist organization on projects that involve complexbusiness financial and operational issues.Essential Responsibilities:Support and manage special projects designed and directed by the CEO and deemed critical to advancing organizational priorities. Examples of potential projects include:Forecasting financials for a business unitAssisting in the regulatory approval and operational integration of a credit union mergerPlanning senior leadership retreat(s)Preparing a business plan for a new ventureManaging implementation of a new organization-wide IT initiativeDrafting policies and procedures for organizational operationsProviding analytical support on major financial and operational decisions for a teamDeveloping a plan for Self-Help entry/support of new social justice initiativesWork with Self-Help senior managers to organize and mobilize organizationalresources around new initiatives for Self-Help to pursue.Track and help prioritize activities within Self-Help that require the CEO’sattentionSupport the organization’s relationships with key collaborators elected officialsregulators and the media. Prepare for and brief appropriate individuals prior toevents regarding important developments and follow-up on resulting action items.Act as a change agent to drive Self-Help’s economic inclusion initiatives by integrating supplier diversity and the use ofbusinesses owned by women and people of color in third party contracting and vendor management for relevant products and services.Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary.Credentials Experience and skills:Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years related professional experience in finance banking community development management consulting business management or social justice Master’s degree in urban planning public policy business administration law or related field preferred.In depth knowledge of financial analysis and analytical aptitude.Strong Project management ability/skills.Demonstrate Self-Helps corporate competencies:Mission and ValuesStandards of ExcellenceTeamwork and CollaborationInitiative and Follow-ThroughCustomer FocusCommunicationStrong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Excellent interpersonal skills – demonstrated ability to work effectively in varied professional socio-economic and cultural contexts.Highly resourceful self-starter and fast learner.Ability to initiate and juggle multiple projects and work independently to meet goals objectives and deadlines.Effective in working behind the scenes.
