VBA and NCA)VideosHelpDuties Duties include but not limited to: Responsible for all clerical activity involved in the management of all Fiscal Service personnel. Administratively supervises the paperwork in the Fiscal Service to include the coordination of activities for daily work production and the redistribution of work to provide for scheduled or emergency leave workload and peak periods or deadlines. Receives visitors and telephone calls from Management Chiefs of Service or their representatives within the Medical Center VA Central Office other Federal Agencies vendors other VA Medical Centers. In each case the incumbent makes the decision as to its referral and in many instances resolves the nature of the call independently Receives reads and distributes incoming correspondence memoranda reports of investigation etc. and determines which he/she handle him/herself or gathers additional information that would be required by the Chief Fiscal Service. Takes and transcribes dictation using auditory recorder from Service Chief performing necessary typing and compiling of same. When correspondence is of a non-policy nature prepares it for the Medical Center Director. Incumbent assures accuracy of form and typographical neatness of all correspondence submitted to the office of the Chief Fiscal Service from all sections of Fiscal Service. Maintains an appointment calendar for the Chief Fiscal Service scheduling his/her many appointments committee memberships and conferences without prior clearance. Arranges official travel schedules including travel and hotel reservations. Responsible for compilation of data ensuring accuracy completeness and timely submission of Service reports which include: Fiscal Quality Control Audits Annual Budget Plan to VACO Annual Distribution of Funding to Control points and Special one-time financial reports. Takes minutes of Budget Committee Meetings Data Validation Committee Meetings Data Validation Committee Meetings Fiscal Service Staff Meetings or any other meetings as required Performs additional duties as assigned. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: Knowledge of administrative principles and techniques such as organizing planning and preparations of reports. Knowledge of policies procedures guidelines and criteria pertinent to the service. Skills in operating a personal computer. Knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and VISTA to perform administrative functions.
