Healthcare RepresentativeIn this role as a Healthcare Representative you will interview and advocate for patients and their families to obtain maximum benefit coverage in a hospital or home health setting.Make a real-world impact helping patients with a rewarding career at Change Healthcare. Interview patients in a hospital setting and/or home visits and work effectively with hospital personnel to assist patients with obtaining maximum benefit coverageComplete applications for state and federal programs (including Health Exchange/Marketplace programs)Achieve and maintain certification designation as Certified Application CounselorReview medical records and take all necessary actions to expedite benefit approvalAdhere to company and legal standards regarding Protected Health Information (PHI) Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and Personnel Transaction Identifier (PTI)Maintain ongoing communication with government agencies regarding the status of claimsProvide updates and assistance to hospital personnel and other Change Healthcare staff as neededMaintain documentation of status of claims and client contract on Change Healthcare and/or hospital computer systemsDetermine when to use a Federal State or Local program application based upon medical definition of disability as it relates to body systems and to functions of daily living and information contained in medical records.What are the requirements needed for this position? 1-3 years of relevant hospital and healthcare experienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentDemonstrated experience with strong work ethics and confidentiality pertaining to medical recordsIntermediate computer/tablet skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook Excel and PowerPoint)What other skills/experience would be helpful to have? Bilingual candidates preferred - Spanish is highly preferred for this location4-year college degree preferredKnowledge of federal and state programs that will benefit coverage for clientsDemonstrated experience working with people of various educational and socioeconomic backgroundsMeditech experienceWhat are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job? General office demandsProlonged periods of standing and walking in hospital facilitiesAbility to travelAdherence to facility masking requirements at all timesHow much should I expect to travel? The salary range for Jersey City NJ is $39360 $65520.
