Applicants from federal agencies may be considered for this position as a reimbursable detailee if endorsed by the employing agency.HelpDuties *Identify and resolve sensitive security related issues and concerns serving as an Area Security Officer (ASO) for one or more Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) components. Lead cultivate and maintain productive working relationships with security colleagues program counterparts and ODNI senior leadership to share information of interest explain the specifics of security programs and procedures and when appropriate present justify defend negotiate and/or settle matters involving significant or controversial issues. Lead and oversee staff in the development and presentation of written and oral briefings on complex topics and be able to learn all pertain aspects of security program in support of senior ODNI staff program counterparts and other government organizations work with program data. Manages and directs the activities of contract personnel assigned to the program. Lead staff in providing guidance and support regarding personnel security and other security issues related to the program including those working at ODNI and other IC locations. Lead oversee initiate and implement policies and procedures required to manage security program and collaborate with other sensitive compartmented information (SCI) SAP and CAP programs and to protect program control system and SCI SAP and CAP resources. Research references to support legal administrative or security decisions. Make recommendations including changes and modifications to security facilities and IT-related processes procedures and SOPs. Lead develop institute and maintain comprehensive program security training and participate in interagency meetings and conferences as required. Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of security programs processes and procedures and recommend strategies of resolving problems or improving overall performance.HelpRequirementsConditions of Employment Applicants may be considered for this position as a reimbursable detailee if endorsed by the employing agency. The ODNI does not conduct polygraphs or provide security clearances for detailees.Qualifications *Thorough knowledge of personnel physical and technical security principles concepts regulations and practices sufficient to serve in an ASO capacity for one or more ODNI components. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Security Officer for IC or DOD programs. Understanding of and ability to oversee SAP and CAP security functions. Understanding of applicable federal laws Presidential Directives Executive Orders IC Directives and DOD Directives related to personnel security physical security insider threat and counterintelligence; familiarity with regulations related to industrial security cyber security and technical security. Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team or collaborative environment and utilize organizational and interpersonal problem solving skills.
