Find your future with us.Boeing is looking for a Senior Certification Software Engineer based out of Seattle Washington.The ONS (Onboard Network Systems) team is looking for a Software Certification Engineer to assure compliance with RTCA/DO-178.   ONS software manages onboard networks off-board communication LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) data load file storage third party developed software and a whole host of additional features that airline customers rely on.  You will work in multi-disciplinary teams with the FAA Engineering Unit Members Systems Engineers Software Developers Testers and business leaders.Position Responsibilities: Lead the certification activities for ONS projectsConduct SOI reviewsAuthor/Review/Approve SDRL documents (PSAC SDP/SVP/SCMP/SQAP SAS SCIA)Conduct reviews with E-UMs and SQA (software quality assurance) teamWork with sw developers system engineers and testers to create certification artifacts and deliverablesLead the work instructions development for the teamAuthor common process work instructionsReview/approve all team work instructionsGuide the requirements development and test team processes to ensure certification complianceWork with multiple external teams programs and communicate technical contentEnsure TRR/PDR/CDR compliance to certification requirements and processes.This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements therefore a “US Person†as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person†includes US Citizen lawful permanent resident refugee or asyleeBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Need DO-178C experience5+ years of experience of SW development 1-2+ years requirements development and testing experience with SDLC (software development life cycle) processPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Need to be process and detail orientedNeed to appreciate process and understand the importance of certification of airborne software productsNeed to have good oral and written communication and team-working skills Preferred to have experience or understanding of Boeing processesPreferred to have experience and understanding of airborne SW development Familiarity or experience with tool qualification processTypical Education & Experience: Bachelors degree and typically 9 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with typically 7 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry.
