We are engineers and technicians skilled scientists and bold innovators.The Boeing Company is seeking a motivated and talented High Speed Vehicle and Hot Structures Thermal Analysis Engineer to join the Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) engineering team in Huntington Beach California.Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including:  Mid-Level and Senior Level High Speed Vehicle and Hot Structures Thermal Analysis Engineers.This group develops integrates and transitions advanced structural architectures and design concepts. We also advance the state of the art in methods and tools for structural analysis. We work across Boeings product life-cycle and develop technologies for commercial aircraft military aircraft rotorcraft space vehicles UAVs and advanced vehicle prototypes.The successful candidate should have competencies in problem solving abilities analytical skills demonstrated design and systems thinking and a willingness to learn and work with new technologies.  In addition a candidate should be interested or familiar with Model-Based Systems engineering and proficient in Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel.Position Responsibilities: Leads and/or supports the thermal design and analysis activities of the high-speed vehicle and hot structures effortEstablishes and documents environmental/thermal engineering and system level design requirements (e.g. performance environment functionality life envelope integrationLeads and/or supports the development of high-speed vehicle thermal design and analysis from customer requirementsPerforms and documents analyses of environmental/thermal components and systems using models and tools to validate or assess the designEvaluates hypersonic vehicle and other high-speed systems designs and performs trade studies for performance extreme environments (hot/cold) and concepts for future environmental/thermal controlProvides guidance to entry level employees to experience the full system cycle from development build test and first flightSupports the capture of government contracted research and development (CRAD) and global leverage opportunitiesTrains others and coaches othersWorks under general to minimal directionThis position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  Note: This role can anticipate a combination of 3 days remote and 2 days per week of onsite work-this can fluctuate depending on project.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry3+ years of experience in mechanical and thermal requirements development3+ years of experience with thermal analysis toolsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience in aero-heating analysisExperience in capture of government Contracted Research & Development (CRAD)Experience using analytical collaboration communication and organizational skillsExperience leading engineering teamsActive Secret ClearanceTypical Education/Experience: Mid-Level (Level 3)Bachelors degree and typically 5 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with typically 3 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.Senior (Level 4)Bachelors degree and typically 9 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with typically 7 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry.
