Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Experienced or Senior Software Engineer to join the Satellite Mission Software team located in Kent WA.This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business organization.We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience developing and maintaining complex cloud-based software. You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of software engineers data scientists and technology experts to build and deploy cutting edge mission support software for government space missions.This position requires motivated self-learning individuals who want to learn new skills and technologies quickly to meet customer needs. In this role you will work to rapidly develop software in an Agile team while working to uphold rigorous testing and clean software practices. You will develop skills in technologies such as Docker Kubernetes AWS and CI/CD pipelines while learning about and adapting to complex mission applications.We work in a casual but professional environment with multi-disciplined teams of engineers that take pride in developing integrating testing and delivering innovative solutions. There is long-term potential for career growth into technical leadership or management positions and we value the curiosity tenacity and imagination our engineers bring to our teams every single day.This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Position Responsibilities:Develop and maintain highly available software to host complex mission processing and support algorithms and modelsWork to optimize performance and resource utilization for software running in a cloud environmentDevelop automated unit and end-to-end testingSupport implementation of machine learning methods and streamline training of new models to meet customer needsSecurity Clearance and Export Control Requirements: This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5) formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):Bachelor’s Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited university in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.3 or more years of software development experience including PythonExperience deploying and maintaining software in a cloud environment (such as AWS)Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with cloud computing and virtualization technologies (Splunk Vmware) and containerized applications and frameworks (Docker Kubernetes)Experience with AWS Elastic MapReduce (EMR) EC2 S3 SagemakerExcellent communication software readability and documentation practicesExperience architecting and working with databases (MySQL MongoDB etc.)Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams alongside other engineers and scientistsExperience using team collaboration tools including Git JIRA Confluence Artifactory etcCurrent CompTIA Security+ certificationTypical Education/Experience Level 3 ExperiencedEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD Master+3 years related work experience).
