Serves as a primary resource for team members in regards to subject matter relating to driver/courier responsibilities. Assists with daily/weekly scheduling of assigned dept. and will be responsible for coordinating the orientation and training new employees as well as coordination of vehicle maintenance (both preventive and real time).Essential Responsibilities:Coordinates daily shuttle requirements; including both general day to day assignments as well as special project requests. Coordinates planned and unplanned maintenance work for vehicles. Prepares backup vehicles and coordinates drop offs to vendors. Assists in planning for driver/courier lunch coverage.Collects from drivers daily passenger counts. Maintains data in orderly fashion for purpose of determining peak volume ridership times. Collects and organizes daily shuttle inspection logs and payroll time sheets.Manages and maintains communication between drivers. Responsibility includes hand held radio confirmation communicating specific real time shuttles requirements such as non-route requests route changes due to traffic etc.Maintains vehicle keys sign in/out log. Updates as necessary to keep up to date vehicle use and availability. Inventories and requests order for basic supplies and equipment such as motor oil wiper blades jumper cables glass cleaner as well as other day to day needs of a basic nature.Performs routine maintenance as outlined by vehicles manufacturer and in conjunction with the Supervisor. Routine maintenance includes: fuel fill up oil change tire changes windshield wipers transmission fluid general interior cleaning mirrors jump starts and other minor repairs/maintenance as needed. Notifies Supervisor of more complex repair needs and bring vehicles to repair shops.Required Qualifications:High School diploma or GED required .1-3 years related work experience required.Current CDL license; must pass general knowledge and passenger endorsement sections of CDL test and comply with all CDL licensing requirements.Excellent driving abilities and accident free driving record (less than one accident in the last two years).Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.Preferred Qualifications:Class 2 license.Competencies:Written Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff patients families and external customers.Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts practices procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.Team Work: Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments.Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients visitors staff and external customers in a professional service-oriented respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.Physical Nature of the Job:Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
