Find your future with us.Boeing Research and Technology is looking for a Mid-Level Systems Engineer for Environmental Control Systems in El Segundo CA.In pursuit of Boeings research and business interests the successful candidate will:This position will be responsible for the identification requirements definition design integration and test of the environmental test capabilities associated with this program effort.  This will be inclusive of Lab/Facility requirements supporting test equipment requirements and test software requirements.Work on leading edge technologies across the enterprise and at business partners and teammate facilities to develop document analyze and test operational functional and environmental requirements of developed research systemsProvide high impact creative solutions to complex technical problemsWork both independently and as part of a team environmentProvide critical support and independent review of the work of teammatesPosition Responsibilities:Define test interface requirements to environmental test systems and participate in design of unique environmental interfaces for future development testing.Support environmental control system development in support of the demonstration and analysis of future system technologies under research & development.Support definition and planning of environmental control system including key technology elements test equipment hardware/software interfaces setup processes and procedures.Interface with technology development lead to ensure planning and execution meet end item deliverable environmental test needs and interim checkpoints planned in project planProvides recommendations for test approaches measurements and processes that will provide data to validate underlying technologies and calibrate relevant modelsDocuments planning for future development tests and summary of executed test results for inclusion into end customer contract deliverableThis position requires a current Tier 5 (T5) formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelors Masters or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistryExperience in new technology or product/capability development3+ years of experience in system design functional decomposition requirements development analysis verification and validationEffectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel at all organization levels including suppliers and customersPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience in working in an agile model based system engineering environmentExperience with Model Based Engineering tools and languages such as Enterprise Architecture Cameo MagicDraw and UML/SysMLEducation/experience in 1 or more of the following: Cameo DOORS SysML Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)Adjudicated Counter Intelligence scope polygraph completed within the last 5 yearsTypical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.  In the USA ABET accreditation is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana cocaine opioids amphetamines PCP and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Shift:This Position is for first shift.Equal Opportunity Employer:Boeing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
